As you know, Microsoft re-released Fable II as a 5 episode downloadable series on Xbox Live. Episode 1 was given out for free. It really is more of an extended “trial” of a finished game, unlike most trials that are based on pre-release material. I never bought the full version of the game so I decided to give Episode 1 a try.
Now it was my understanding that this wasn’t just a regular trial game and that achievements can still be unlocked like in the full retail game.Well, color me surprised to find out that upon gaining an achievement, it didn’t actually unlock but instead told me to purchase Episode 2 in order to give me credit for the achievement. In other words, it told me that I am owed an achievement, but only if I purchase Episode 2 will I get it!
Has anyone else run into this or is it just me? If this is part of the full version of the game, why shouldn’t I be able to receive the achievements I’ve gained? I expect not receiving any on trial games but not something that is suppose to be part of a 5 part episodic adventure.
