Baby, Try to Speak 1 is a children’s educational app from Eveokom. The goal of the app is to teach your young child how to say the names of some very basic animals you would find on a farm. The main draw of the app is that it utilizes voice recognition as part of its gameplay. In on of the three games, you’ll have to say the name of the animal. If you say the name correctly, the app will tell you “well done” with a round of applause. If you say the incorrect name, the app will say “uh oh” and the animal will hang its head in shame.
Like I said above, there are 3 different mini-games you can play in Baby, Try to Speak. They are fairly simple games too. There is a simple matching game where each match you make, the animals say what they are. There is the discover the farm animals game where you’ll need to say the name of the animal shown. Last, there is the recognize the farm animals game in which they’ll show 2 animals and then play a sound that corresponds to one of the animals. You need to choose the correct animal the sound relates to.
The voice recognition portion of the game is interesting in that when you do say the correct name, it will recognize it as correct. However, I was able to say a few incorrect names that had nothing to do with the animals and it would sometimes say correct while other times it would correctly tell me it was wrong. Just a weird little thing.
Baby, Try to Speak 1 is a decent little educational app for children. It has its quirks, but overall, a good app especially since it is free. Kids should enjoy this app, even though the games are a bit simple, but it’s good for younger children.
♥ ♥ ♥ We are proud to announce that “Baby, Try To Speak” has selected to receive the FWA Mobile Of The Day (MOTD) Award for 12th August 2012.
