This has been out since the middle of last month, but for those who haven’t seen it yet, it’s a mind blowing Portal mashup. Portal is one of the more creative and challenging console games I’ve played and by adding portals to the classic Super Mario game, it completely changes everything you know about Super Mario.
I really hope this gets released as a custom rom or something because I’d really love to play this.
Raptr, on of the most popular social networks for gamers, has evolved with all new features that make coming to Raptr all the more useful. Raptr today launched its new website which adds a new social news platform to the site that will allows users to submit news and view news about the games they play. Raptr is already one of the top sites for tracking the games you play so now, they’ve added a layer of personalized news to it that only delivers relevant news about the games that you play. Pretty clever.
We’d also like to announce that we are one of their launch partners, which is pretty exciting for us. We currently have our own topics page set up on Raptr here: http://www.raptr.com/topic/the-gamer-with-kids/wall, so stop on by and follow our page. We are still in the process of sprucing up the page a bit but feel free to stop on by and say hello.

Here at The Gamer with Kids, we love all things LEGO so when we saw this new trailer we got excited with the thought of yet another awesome LEGO based game. ARrrrgghhhh!!!! (been wanting to do that for a while now) it’s a Pirates of the Caribbean based LEGO game and if it’s anything like the LEGO games in the past its bound to be fun for all ages. Looks like this game should be released at the same time as the next movie in May 2011!

As a parent, one of the toys I really like buying my son are LEGO’s. Not only do they help children follow directions but they help fuel the imagination. That is why I’m a huge fan of LEGO’s. With that said, here’s a brand new trailer for the new LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars game.
If you’ve been desperately searching for a new copy of Super Mario All-Stars Limited Edition, Nintendo just announced that a new shipment will be arriving in stores sometime around March 13th. This will be the final shipment of the game so after that, you will no longer be able to find it at the store. Super Mario All-Star Limited Edition seems to be highly collectible with copies of the game selling for 2-3x what retail was.

Mario Sports Mix is being released this week for the Nintendo Wii. It looks like a fun game that the whole family can enjoy so I figured I throw the launch trailer up here. Mario are usually very family and kid oriented and this game looks no different. Look for it this week in stores.
Looks like another LEGO game is coming this summer and this time it’ll be featuring the adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow. It’s just a little introduction to the game but I’m sure it’ll be as charming and humorous as all the previous LEGO games.
The major news here isn’t that the Wii sold more than 7 million units again this year, but that the Nintendo DS is now the best selling video console of all time with more than 47 million units sold in the United States alone. That’s one hell of a feat, but then again, the Nintendo DS platform has been out since 2004 and has gone through a few different variations. Nintendo is set to release the their upcoming Nintendo 3DS this March so look for that number to get even higher. Click the read more link for the rest of the press release.

As most of you know, Disney Epic Mickey came out today and it’s been on my personal list of must have games this year. In honor of the release, here’s a D!tto music video mashup. *Warning – May contain spoilers*
Disney put out another behind the scenes video from Disney Epic Mickey today. In this video, Warren Spector and crew talk about their access into the Disney archives and how much history will be included within Disney Epic Mickey. It’s quite fascinating how much of Disney’s history is being included in the game especially how many forgotten characters we’ll get to see. Disney Epic Mickey is really one game you must purchase when it comes out at the end of this month.
