Little Space Heroes is a new online kids game from independent developer Bubblegum Interactive. It is a free to play online games where kids between the age of 6-12 can create their own characters and take part in online quests and adventures. Check out the trailer below for a full rundown of what the game is about.
Little Space Heroes is a virtual universe. Unlike most other virtual worlds out there, in Little Space Heroes kids can explore an entire galaxy rather than just one land or world. We’ve placed a significant investment in ‘story’ – it’s up to players to join the Heroes Academy and seek out the dastardly Lord Shadowbot who has stolen away the mystical creatures known as The Glows. There are different planets to explore, each of which has unique characters, creatures, quests and activities. Little Space Heroes is designed for kids aged 6-12 and is free to play worldwide. In the game kids create their own heroes and can go on quests, make new friends, play mini-games and earn badges as they seek out Shadowbot. For kids and families that want unlimited adventure we also offer premium memberships.
Safety and age-suitability is of great importance to us. Little Space Heroes is rated E for Everyone and we recently secured theFamily Friendly Video Games Seal of Approval. We use advanced black list and white list filters to ensure no profanity or mature content can be used in game and we have a team of moderators in place to make sure the game is safe, fun and inclusive for all players.

Now here is some news that might actually get me to finally upgrade my 6 year old computer at home. It looks like LEGO Universe will get a free-to-play option this August that gives players a small taste of what they can expect if they become full paid members. The free-to-play option will feature a limited selection of game content as well as two adventure zones and one player property area for building their own virtual LEGO models. Players will be able to play the free-to-play zones for an unlimited time.
LEGO hopes to attract more players to the LEGO Universe and hopefully convert many of the free-to-play members to full paying members. Again, the free-to-play offering will be available this August.

Remember the whole hoopla about Smuggle Truck and whether or not it would pass Apple’s approval due to the theme of smuggling illegal aliens into America? Well, it didn’t. It was denied and the developers, Owlchemy Labs, had to alter the game slightly in order to get it on to the App Store. The game was re-submitted as Snuggle Truck and the objective now is to free cute, cuddly animals from the Zoo. The gameplay is still the same, just the theme has changed.
Snuggle Truck is available now in the App Store for $1.99 for the iPhone and $2.99 on the iPad. If you want to play the original Smuggle Truck game, you can get it for PC and Mac for $5.00 which includes both versions of the game.
Bonus video here if you want to hear from the developers why Smuggle Truck became Snuggle Truck.
This is probably the last Portal 2 trailer considering the game comes out next week. This one is entitled “Boots” and features what Aperture Laboratories calls, the Long Fall Boot. It’s basically a “suit of armor” for your feet.
Over the last few weeks, we’ve gotten quite a few enticing reasons to pre-invest in Aperture Laboratories: from the planks of tomorrow, to test-optimized bots, to the last word in pre-emptive defense, the Home Safety Turret. Today marks Aperture’s fourth and final Investment Opportunity video, and if it doesn’t get you reaching for your special investment wallet, you wouldn’t know a can’t-miss opportunity if it was staring you in the face, yelling at you about boots.
Valve today releases their third video in the Aperture Investment Opportunity series for Portal 2. This one is entitled “Turrets.” This one deals with the consumer version of their turret technology and all the varies features they possess. Again, these new shorts are very funny and Valve is doing an excellent job hyping Portal 2 which will be in stores April 19th.

Valve today released another new trailer that highlights the need for trust. Portal 2 requires a load of trust in co-op mode and as they point out, humans can not be trusted. That’s why Portal 2′s co-op mode incorporates the use of robots because in their tests, robots provide and extra 6 seconds of cooperation. Good job Aperture Laboratories.
With Portal 2 arriving next month, I’m happy to see Valve finally making these teaser trailers again. Portal was one of my favorite first person puzzlers on the 360 so I’m psyched to get Portal 2 in my hands, especially with the prospect of playing it co-op with a friend. This new trailer is entitled “Panels” and it’s got Valve’s usual brand of humor in it.
As much as I love covering family oriented games and educational games for children, once in a while I want to play my adult games. Crysis 2 hits shelves today nationwide and my pre-order is arriving today via Amazon. That means that as soon as the kids get to bed tonight, I’m loading this up on my Xbox 360. See you guys on Live.

Here’s a great opportunity for children who are interested in game design and/or making their own games. Microsoft has just released the full version of their Kodu Game Lab software for PC for free. The software allows users to build their own video games with no programming experience. The software is intended for children who are interested in creating their own games.
Microsoft is holding a nationwide contest called the Kodu Cup that invites students age 9-17 to build their own games. Prizes will be awarded to those with the best games. It’s a very cool opportunity for children and I for one am glad that Microsoft is taking an interest in our youth.
