Their mission, to save their planet from the threat of industrialization which is polluting their world. DC Universe Online Going Free-To-Play

September 19, 2011 Leave a comment

My PlayStation 3 hasn’t seen much gaming lately but I think all that is about to change. Starting October, DC Universe Online is going free-to-play. That means that you’ll be able to download the entire game for free as well as play the game for free without any monthly subscription fees. This is great news as I’m always down for free games and the subscription fees were one of the issues that kept me from ever buying this game. There will still be a pay option for premium content, but it’s exciting to see most of the core game go free.

For more detailed information about the changes happening to the game as well as the 3 levels of access, check out PlayStation.Blog for all the info.

Raptr, on of the most popular social networks for gamers, has evolved with all new features that make coming to Raptr all the more useful. Raptr today launched its new website which adds a new social news platform to the site that will allows users to submit news and view news about the games they play. Raptr is already one of the top sites for tracking the games you play so now, they’ve added a layer of personalized news to it that only delivers relevant news about the games that you play. New Portal 2 Trailer – Aperture Investment Opportunity #4: “Boots”

This is probably the last Portal 2 trailer considering the game comes out next week. This one is entitled “Boots” and features what Aperture Laboratories calls, the Long Fall Boot. It’s basically a “suit of armor” for your feet.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve gotten quite a few enticing reasons to pre-invest in Aperture Laboratories: from the planks of tomorrow, to test-optimized bots, to the last word in pre-emptive defense, the Home Safety Turret. Today marks Aperture’s fourth and final Investment Opportunity video, and if it doesn’t get you reaching for your special investment wallet, you wouldn’t know a can’t-miss opportunity if it was staring you in the face, yelling at you about boots.

Some of the games mentioned were Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, and a new franchise entitled Dragon’s Dogma. Sonic the Hedgehog’s 20th Anniversary Teaser Video

Has it really been 20 years already since SEGA first introduced Sonic the Hedgehog? It seems like just yesterday that I was first introduced to SEGA’s lovable mascot on the SEGA Genesis. This was back in 1991. Wow. Where does the time go? SEGA today put up a little teaser commemorating Sonic’s 20th anniversary that shows him running around on very familiar territory. It’s a look at a new game coming out but doesn’t show any actual gameplay. Not much else is shown but it looks like SEGA might have some really big plans for him this year.
