Mimoco is showing off their new line of MIMOMICRO USB Card Readers & Drives and by the looks of it, I think they have a real winner on their hands. Unlike their MIMOBOT line which are just regular thumb drives, the MIMOMICRO is a combination thumb drive and Micro SD card reader. That means that the memory in these are expandable based on the Micro SD card size you use. These also seem to be much smaller than the MIMOBOTs and because of the flip out USB plug, there is no cap to lose. Initially they will be available with STar Wars and DC Comics licensing but I’m sure more will be available in the coming year.
These will be available from MIMOCO around March 2012 and are being shown off right now at CES 2012.
Here’s a car that got a lot of attention over at SEMA last week. The car is a VW Passat, but what makes the car so special is that it was covered from head to toe with hand drawn Star Wars art by comic book artist, Ken Lashley. The car itself was originally created during this past SDCC and auctioned off. It however found time to make an appearance at SEMA wearing some really nice Rotiform BLQs.
Above though, you’ll see the original time lapse video from VW on the creation of this one of a kind car.
Another year, another limited edition MIMOBOT planned for the San Diego Comic Con. This year’s limited edition MIMOBOT features that of Harley Quinn as featured in DC Comics’, Batman: Arkham City video game by Rocksteady Studios. You’ll only be able to buy Harley Quinn at the 2011 San Diego Comic Con and it will be limited to just 800 pieces. If you’re attending the SDCC 2011, be sure to pick one up.

As the banner image states, Mimoco is running a sale right now on the Star Wars and DC Comics themed MIMOBOTs at 15% off in celebration of Father’s Day. The sale starts today and will end on June 18th. So for all your geek dads out there, treat yourself to one of these or better yet, get your kids to buy one for you.
You might remember the Darth Vader VW commercial from a few months back with a kid dressed up in full Darth Vader attire trying to harness the power of the dark side. Well, Marvel has spoofed that ad for its latest Thor movie with its version called Little Thor. Needless to say, the outcome is still very funny.
As I post this, this is the first time I’ve actually seen what the new X-Men movie will be like. X-Men: First Class is basically about Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, how their friendship eventually leads to their rivalry as Professor X and Magneto. I don’t really know what my feeling are yet about the movie, but it does look pretty interesting. The trailer itself has almost a “Watchmen” type feel to it.
Description
X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
I saw this over at ComicsAlliance and I have to say that Superman Classic by Rob Pratt is absolutely fantastic. It really captures Superman in his earlier years when he stood for everything good and wholesome in the world. I really like the 1940′s feel of it even though Superman looks rather short in it. I hope Mr. Pratt makes more of these as I am eager to see how Superman will deal with the robot invasion.
I saw this over at Autoblog and having lived through the 80′s, Transformers was one of my favorite cartoons at the time. In fact, I still have a special place in my heart for the original ones so seeing this really brought back some memories. The above pic is just a snippet of the massive image. Looks like Mimoco is expanding their line of MIMOBOT designer USB Flash drives as they are now collaborating with Warner Bros. for an exclusive line of Batman related MIMOBOTs. This is great news as I was a big fan of their Star Wars line of MIMOBOTs and the Batman themed ones look like they are going to be just as awesome. The full line of Batman inspired MIMOBOTs will be available come this February. You can purchase the limited edition Vintage Batman MIMOBOT now in their store however here. The Vintage Batman is limited to 5000 pieces.
Inside Line has a fantastic post up right now on the 70-year history of the famed Batmobile. You’ll recognize some of the more popular incarnations of the Batmobile as well as ones you’ve probably never seen before. The most popular is the 1966 version from the popular Batman television series built by George Barris. If you’re a Batman fan, you’ll definitely want to check this out.
I’m a sucker for superheroes. As a teen I was an avid collector but as an adult, I just don’t collect as much. I am still however a big comic book fan even if I don’t buy them anymore.
Sony’s DC Universe Online is a game I’ve been following for a while thanks in part to that gorgeous cinematic trailer that was shows a couple months back. For your viewing pleasure, here are some character designs and screenshots of Lex Luthor, arguable one of the greatest villains of all time.
It’s hard for you young whipper-snappers and people with all that free time to know what us gamers with kids and jobs have to go through to get our gaming on but this web-comic by those funny guys at Penny Arcade pretty much sums it all up.
Activision‘s Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is looking pretty good on the non-portable platforms. While the Nintendo DS version of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions doesn’t get as much press, I’ll have to say that it looks like a pretty good side-scrolling platform game. The graphics look really good and the it looks pretty fun.
