After 20+ Years, the Shoe Nike Never Made, but Everyone Wanted – The Air McFly

September 8, 2011 Leave a comment

Over the years, the one shoe that Nike never made but everyone wanted were the shoes Marty McFly wore in the 2nd Back to the Future movies. Commonly know as the “McFly’s”, these shoes were coveted by geeks due to their self-lacing feature.

I saw this over at the “Nice Kicks” blog and it seems to be a teaser for the release of actual McFly’s, but who really knows. Whatever the case, this just adds more hype to a shoe that may or may not ever come out.

Update - They’re real! On that note, I’ll most likely also never be able to afford to buy them. http://www.nicekicks.com/2011/09/nike-air-mag-officially-unveiled/

adidas Star Wars Sir Bag Featuring Darth Vader

August 11, 2011 Leave a comment

I’m usually not one to condone the use of a man purse, but this adidas Star Wars Sir Bag just begs to be carried around. The fact that Darth Vader’s mug adorns the front of this bag negates the whole issue of this being a man purse. The bag features one large main compartment and one smaller front zip pocket.  It’s available now on adidas’ online shop for $40.00 here.

Details

  • Large main compartment; Front zip pocket
  • Adjustable shoulder strap
  • Metal trim for style and durability; Nylon zips; Star Wars branding on front
  • Trefoil and adidas Star Wars logo on front and side
  • Dimensions: 11″ x 12″ x 4.5″
  • 100% polyurethane two-layer
  • Imported

Awesome NES Controller Skin for Your iPhone 4

September 16, 2010 Leave a comment

This is a must buy for any iPhone 4 owner who’s also a die hard gaming geek. The guys over at Short Sleeve Alliance are selling a rather nice, retro themed NES Controller decal for the rear of your iPhone 4.  It’s only $5 and will help protect the back of your iPhone 4 from scratches.

In commemoration of my new iPhone, we decided to spice it up a bit. Cut and printed on quality gloss vinyl, and run through a series of prototypes to get the cuts and angles just right we bring to you the NES controller. Its made specifically to fit around the iPhone 4 and its rear facing camera and does not interfere with the fancy clash. It won’t fit on other iphones… yet, we’re still working on those.

Custom Akuma Nike Dunks – “DAWN OF DARKNESS”

August 29, 2010 Leave a comment

These are some highly custom Nike Dunks created by the folks at Diversitile. They created this shoe for the Clash of the Customizers in 2009.

The shoe was created for the clash of the customizes battle that taking place on sole collector right now. The Dunk is inspired by Akuma, we wanted to show the overall determination and mysteriousness of Akuma himself. The Akuma symbol is a repeating feature which means “sky”. As far as colors, we wanted to show the deep oranges and browns of a far away training ground, and pinks of Akuma’s evil energy. The art on the shoes are composed in a continuous scene around the shoes. The shoe laces and lace locks are accents of the Akuma character. We also incorporated our logo with the Akuma symbol to create a Japanese inspired scroll on each tongue.

Nike is Making my Dreams Come True – Power Laces from “Back to the Future II”

August 26, 2010 Leave a comment

About a month ago, I posted up an article on my other blog about how we only have 5 years left to make all our Back to the Future II tech dreams come true. In it, on of the items I hoped for were self adjust clothes; that includes those sweet ass Nikes with the power laces. Well, it looks like Nike is finally looking towards the future because they are now in the process of patenting the power lace technology. I really hope this is real because I know its every geeks dream to own a pair of these shoes.

If you check out the WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) site, you’ll see the exact submission made by Nike. Here is a small excerpt of the submission:

I’m a big fan of all thing Star Wars, and Star Wars related gear especially if they have to do with the original trilogy. That’s why, it’s not hard to see why I would want this adidas Originals Star Wars Superstar track jacket featuring one of the most famous of Sith lords, Darth Vader. The jacket features an imprint of Darth Vader up front along with matching Star Wars logo on the rear. You can pick it up now at the adidas  Shop for $85.00 in all sizes.

If you have an adidas Outlet shop near you, you may want to check it out and see if they have this one sale as well. They were having a buy one get one 50% off sale where I was at so youR mileage may vary.

Geek Fashion: Star Wars Backpack Buddies by Comic Images

August 16, 2010 1 comment

I posted an image earlier of a Star Wars Stormtrooper backpack that I saw a kid wearing whose parents were part of the 501st Legion. They had purchased it from the Star Wars Celebration V event here in Orlando for $35.00 which includes a special 501st Legion patch that only 501st Legion members could order.

Well, I did a little digging on the internet and found that Comic Images makes this particular Stormtrooper backpack as well as some other ones. They call them Backpack Buddies. There are 7 different designs you can buy and according to the Comic Image’s website, they are only $22.00, although I’m guessing that might be distributor pricing or something because you can not buy them directly from Comic Images as they only sell to authorized retailers and distributors. Most stores online I’ve found sell them for way more than that. Bummer.

My favorite one is the Stormtrooper, although that Chewbacca looks really awesome as well.

Spotted this t-shirt at Downtown Disney. Thought it was really creative and would actually make a great save the trees campaign if they did it for the 30th anniversary of Return of the Jedi maybe.

adidas Originals – Star Wars™ Cantina 2010

Continuing with the last adidas Orignals X Star Wars Han Solo SL72 post, here is a little viral video I found that features David Beckham, Daft Punk, Snoop Dogg, Franz Beckenbauer, Noel Gallagher, Ian Brown, Ciara, Jay Baruchel, DJ Neil Armstrong and others in a Star Wars mashup set at the Cantina.

Snoop Dogg is great in this.
