So the rumors were true and Nintendo today announced that a new Nintendo Switch Lite will be hitting store shelves come September 20th, 2019. It differs from the regular Nintendo Switch in that the Nintendo Switch Lite is more compact and lightweight. The controllers are now attached to the new 5.5-inch touchscreen and can not be removed. This makes the unit a bit smaller than the regular Nintendo Switch.
Another main difference is that the Nintendo Switch Lite will not allow for TV out like the regular Switch. That means the Nintendo Switch Lite is strictly a portable game console. It also lacks HD rumble, and IR sensors.
Available in three new colors – yellow, grey, and turquoise – the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available for $199.99
