If you own a smartphone, you need a charger. While many phones out there still come with chargers, some don’t anymore. Not only that, some phones that do come with chargers don’t come with fast chargers. That’s why sometimes it’s better to but a 3rd party charger that can not only fast-charge but also adds some sort of additional feature that makes it better than just a run of the mill stock charger. Take for instance the PureGear LightSpeed 30W USB-C PD + USB-A charger. This charger packs not only a built-in USB-C PD cable but an additional USB-A port so you can charge a second device at the same time.
This PureGear LightSpeed charger has a built-in USB-C PD cable which has a maximum output of 18W. It’s from this cable that you can fast-charge from. The other port is a USB-A port which you can plug other USB cables into but this only has a 12W output, so it is not a fast-charging port. You’d use this for other devices that don’t require fast charging or can’t fast charge. Combined, we get a total of 30W of charging for this device.
The built-in cable is convenient in that you don’t need to worry about carrying another cable around, but also limits what you can fast-charge to only USB-C phones. There is a Lighting version of this as well if you own an iPhone, so there’s that option. What’s also convenient is the foldable prongs for easier storage and transport while traveling.
That’s pretty much it. The PureGear LightSpeed 30W USB-C PD + USB-A charger does what it says it does and it does it well. The addition of the extra port makes it convenient if you also want to charge something like a smartwatch or headphones at the same time and the all-in-one design with the built-in cable makes it easier to carry. So if you’re looking for a capable charger that will fast charge your main smartphone and regular charge a second device, you can’t really go wrong with the PureGear LightSpeed 30W USB-C PD + USB-A charge.
