Review: Retro Revolution v1.3.4 (iOS)

Retro Revolution is a first person tunnel game where to object of the game is to just see how far you can get in the tunnel without running into obstacles. That is the whole objective as the tunnel you are “flying” in is never ending and the obstacles are all randomly generated so in essence, you are never playing the same game twice.

There are 2 included game modes in Retro Revolution. There is classic mode where you are stuck to the walls and just move around on the outside while avoiding the obstacles. The other is flight mode where you are free to move around inside the tunnel. This mode is much harder as you can get disoriented quickly but this really is the most challenging mode you can play that will really test your skills.

The only real downside to the game is the music. At first it’s really upbeat and cool, but because of the repetition, you’ll find yourself wanting to turn down or  off the music as it begins to get quite annoying.

Retro Revolution is a fun little game if you need to occupy a few minutes. There really isn’t much more to the game besides the 2 modes so once you master both, you may find yourself out of challenges. Despite that, it’s still an overall enjoyable game that makes good use of the tilt sensors.

You can pick up Retro Revolution now in the App Store, free for a limited time only.
