Red Clock is a clock, alarm, and weather app from developer Morethan Apps. It is a simple, minimalistic, desktop clock app that is meant to be easy to read with only the most essential of information present on the screen. It supposedly has the largest font of any app currently available in the App Store making it highly legible, even when half asleep. Though the name of the app is Red Clock, there are actually 10 different colored backgrounds available for you to use and you can have as little or as much information as you want on the screen – weather, temperature, and date can all be shown or hidden from view.

The app is very simple to use. Star the app and the clock takes up the entire screen. The clock portion of the app takes up almost half the screen due to it’s large typeface. This is good because it’s really the main information that you want to be reading on a clock. The weather is shown below that if you turn on this feature. Weather is shown with a large, simplistic icon in which there are 30 of them that can be shown. Underneath the weather, you can enable information like the temperature and the date. You can set an alarm from within the app that is separate from the default alarm on the iPhone and has it’s own alarm tones as well. The alarm will even function if the app is turned off.

If you’re the type of person to use their iPhone as a desktop clock either during the day or as a bedside clock, Red Clock might just be the clock app you’ve been searching for. I like how simplistic looking it is and how easy it is to read. I also really like how customizable it is with which features you can turn on and off. The app will also allow you to disable the auto lock feature on the iPhone and even has a night mode which will dim the screen. I do suggest however only using this app while plugged in as it will keep your screen on the entire time.
