These are some random photos I took while up in Michigan a couple of weeks back using the new Samsung WB850F Smart Camera. I have a hands-on preview of the camera posted up here if you want to check it out as well as a full review coming soon. These are just a handful of the hundreds of photos I shot with the camera, mainly family photos so you won’t really see much of those posted here. Instead, here are the random images I shot so you can get a feel for the image quality and color output of the camera. All photos shown here are unedited except for resizing and watermarking for use on the site.

Overall, I am very happy with the image quality on the WB850F as well as the color output. Usually with most cameras, I need to slightly edit them in Lightroom to get the exposure and colors I want but with this camera, they actually look pretty good with no edits. I’d still probably edit them a tiny bit but I’m just saying that for those who don’t do any post processing, you’ll be very happy with the photos straight out of the camera.

I was also very impressed with how well the in-camera image stabilization functioned at full zoom. This is an image I took at full zoom, in a moving car, taking a photo of another moving car. As you can see, the image is very clear and still has a lot of detail. Also note that the area of Michigan I was in doesn’t exactly have buttery smooth roads.
