If you are a fan of puzzle games, then you’ll be a fan of The Heist. Developed by Tap Tap Tap for Mac Heist, The Heist is a challenging puzzle game that features 4 different types of puzzles. The goal is to solve each of these puzzles in order to crack open the vault and claim the prize within. Now if you just think it’s some kind of virtual prize, you’re wrong because in this case, it’s an actual real prize. For completing the Heist, you’ll be rewarded with a STEAM code for a real game which is worth more than the $0.99 you pay for this app.

There are 4 different types of puzzles included with the Heist spanning over 60 different levels. These aren’t just random, crappy puzzles though. These are 4 very popular types of puzzles that most people have encountered at least once in their lives. In the first puzzle, you are tasked with trying to free a circuit board by moving blocks that are blocking its path. The second game is like Sudoku, but uses pictures and colors instead of numbers, making it a bit more challenging. The next set of games consists of blocks that you have to move around with a robot. You need to get the blocks into their correct spaces in order to solve this puzzle. This one was probably the most challenging along with the next puzzle. The last set of challenges deals with moving tiles around  to get them in their proper position and order. You won’t be dissapointed by the challenges offered as they do start off a bit easy, but ramp up in difficulty quite quickly. It took me a few days before I could figure them all out.

Now, the one thing that I found really neat about the Heist, and it did freak me out at first, is that your employer in the game actually calls you. Your phone rings and everything and it even mimics the iPhone’s default calling app. When it first called me, I didn’t know whether or not to pick up the phone and when I did, I was surprised that the audio was coming out of my iPhone’s ear piece just like a rear phone call! That’s what I call attention to detail and that really stood out with me.

The Heist is a terrific game that is highly polished and challenging. Puzzle addicts will find the game satisfying especially since solving all the puzzles earns you some real prizes as opposed to just some arbitrary stars. Once you solve all the puzzles, you can still go back to the other levels, but by then, you’ll already know the solutions to them. At least with the prizes, you’re still getting your $0.99 worth since the game you win is worth more.
