I’m not lying when I say that Pulse is by far, my most favorite news ready I use on both my iPhone and iPad. I’ve been using it ever since it first came out and I still use it today. It’s one of the quickest apps I use to browse a complete list of blogs I follow in a very short amount of time. This is quite helpful as I rarely have the time to just relax and slowly read my news. With Pulse, it’s so easy to glance at all the new for a given day and only click on what I find interesting. It’s also very easy to share that news with all my social networks. With that said, Pulse just made their already fantastic app even better with their new version 3.0 update.
I won’t go into a full review as the core functions of the app haven’t really changed so you can read my previous review on the app here. Instead, I’m going to go over all the new improvements the developers have made to Pulse and how much better it just got. For starters, the biggest change here is the new navigation interface. Pulse use to have all your tabs on top that you could swipe through, but on the iPhone, you couldn’t see all your tabs without swiping left or right. Pulse now uses a familiar side bar similar to what we’ve seen on the Facebook app. I actually prefer this method as it’s easier to see all your tab lists and also keeps you from accidentally switching tabs.
Another major improvement is that you can now use Pulse for offline reading. That means if for instance you on a plane with no Wi-Fi connection, Pulse will allow you to preload all your news stories before hand and they’d be available for you to read in offline mode. Very handy in my opinion. The app itself also seems to be a bit speedier, though it was already a very fast app.
If you weren’t using Pulse before, I highly suggest checking it out. Sure there are tons of other news apps available, but Pulse has always been my go to news reader because of its ease of use and speed. I love how you can basically browse an entire day’s worth of news in minutes with it making it so easy to stay up to date. It’s one of the few apps I actually use on a daily basis.
Pulse is available now in the App Store for Free. It is a universal app and is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
