Garfield was pretty popular back in the days when I was growing up. I would love reading the Sunday comics and Garfield was always on my reading list. These days, I’m not sure most children even know who Garfield is anymore but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a game based on him. Feed Garfield is the latest Garfield based game from Web Prancer. The plot of the game is as follows: Jon went on a weekend getaway to Hawaii with Liz. But before leaving for the trip, he made sure he secured all the food in the house to prevent Garfield from pigging out. But while Jon’s away, the cat must play. Garfield needs to find a way to get his paws on some sweet sustenance! Basically what you’ll need to do in Feed Garfield is figure out a way of getting Garfield’s favorite food, lasagna, into his bowl with help from his trusted friend Odie.

The gameplay in Feed Garfield is similar to physics based puzzle games as well as games like Cut the Rope. Basically the object of the game is to try and get food into Garfield’s bowl while also trying to pick up the 3 servings of bonus lasagna. Like with most physics based games, gravity comes into play heavily. You’ll be given several tools to help Odie get the food into Garfield’s bowl such as wooden planks to alter the bounce angle and something that looks like a whoopie cushion which can shoot the food into a completely different direction.

It’s a pretty straight forward game. If you’ve played other physics based games, you’ll be able to play Feed Garfield straight away. It’s a simple game, but yet still very challenging. There are 45 levels to unlock as well as several bonus levels. What I like the most however is that the game really does a good job of translating the look and feel of the Garfield universe. It might not be the most challenging of these type of games, but it’s still very good.

Feed Garfield is available now in the App Store for $0.99. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.

Odie has to use his hunting skills to sniff out the food. Once he finds the food source, he must shoot the food straight to Garfield’s bowl. It’s a tough challenge for the dopey dog, but he knows he has to feed the kitty!

Odie needs to make sure the food will go straight into Garfield’s bowl. But wait, there’s more! Help Odie drop the food and get all the lasagna along the way. There are 3 pieces of lasagna strategically placed in every stage.
