Another area in which we saw quite a few companies showing was that of the connected watch. CES saw the introduction of the i’m Watch and a working Pebble Watch as well as simpler executions coming from Casio. The one watch however that I didn’t really see featured on other outlets was the COOKOO watch from ConnecteDevice. Basically it’s a fashionable analog timepiece that is integrated with a digital face that displays notifications of incoming alerts. This is great for those who keep their iPhone buried in a purse or bag or for those who just hate looking at their phone all the time. This allows you to only check your phone if it’s really something important you want to see.
The COOKOO watch however needs an accompanying app to function correctly which is available free in the App Store. With it, you can set which notification types you want to receive as well as using it to customize the Command button on the watch. The COOKOO watch allows you to receive notifications of the following:
- Incoming calls
- Missed calls
- Facebook messages and posts
- Calendar reminders
- When the smart device is out of range
- When the smart device is at low battery levels, etc.
And by programming the customizable Command button on the watch, you’ll also be able to do the following as well:
- Finding their phone
- Snapping photos remotely
- One-button Facebook check-in
- Location tagging on the map, etc.
There are actually a ton of uses I can see for a connected watch and in all honesty, it may be one of my next purchases this year. It may or may not be this one, but it will be something. The COOKOO watch retails for $129.99 which really is not a bad price for a connected smart watch.
