My Photo Planets is a tiny app that allows you to take photos in a really creative way. You may have seen those photos of landscapes that have been altered to make them look like small planets. Well, this app does that and does it easily. All you have to do is open up the app, point at what you want planetized, and then shoot. The app will do the rest. You can even choose one of 12 different photo filters to use to give your planet a stylized look. As easy and functional as this app is however, there is one major fault with it.
One of the biggest complaints about the app is that it just doesn’t work in portrait mode. The app auto rotates, but the UI does not. It just wasn’t meant to work in portrait mode and the developer really should just lock the app in landscape mode and not allow it to auto rotate. That seems to be the biggest issue with users. In fact, this is really my one and only complaint about it and one that the developer should fix as it makes an otherwise beautiful app seem broken.
However, despite this issue, I would still tell you to give My Photo Planers a try mainly because it’s free and for a free app, I’m willing to overlook a little UI complaint, especially if the app works.
My Photo Planets is available now in the App Store for free. It is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.3 or later. This app is optimized for iPhone 5.
