Path On a photo editing app with one very unique feature dealing with text. Unlike other apps, Path On allows you to freely draw a path on your photo that text will follow. For example, let’s say you want to add text around a photo of yourself and want the text to curve around your head. All you have to do is draw a line around your head and the text will automatically follow that path. That means that with Path On, you are no longer confined to just adding straight text to your photos. With Path On, you can make text bend to whatever shape you desire.
Let’s start with the basics. The main reason you’ll want to pick up Path On is because of it’s ability to make text follow whatever path you create. You can literally draw anything you want and the text will follow it. You also don’t have to make your own freehand path as you can use one of the predefined paths – square, circle, paragraph, or spiral. Text can be any size you desire and you can have the app automatically adjust spacing so it fills up the entire path. Along with this, you are also able to adjust color, drop shadows, and font type. A huge number of fonts are included with the app which is terrific because I hate in-app purchases.
As a bonus, Path On isn’t just a text app for photos. The app also allows you to apply a number of creative filters to your photos. I count 27 filters with most of them being pretty nice, though I found a few that I would probably never use. On top of the photo filters, you’re also able to crop photos and apply a desired level of blur to your photos as well as the opacity of it.
When you’re done editing, you can export your photos to your camera roll or to the usual popular social networking sites – Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr.
Overall, I really like Path On. It’s very simple to use with clearly labeled buttons and tools. I like the fact that it’s not just a text app for photos and that there is also an included simple photo editing feature with creative filters. Basically, this app has what most people look for when searching for mobile photo editing apps that are simple and easy to use. I’ve read some complaints about resolution not being high enough on exported photos but that doesn’t really bother me considering that I wouldn’t use a phone app if I were actually editing a real photo to preserve the highest quality and instead use these as a way to add some fun to photo.
