LandGrabbers is a real time strategy game from Nevosoft. I’m not exactly too sure how to define the genre of game this would be, but it is described as combining classic elements of strategy, simulator, and resource management games. Basically you must quickly and skillfully capture enemy fortresses throughout the board while also trying to defend your own fortress from being taken over. It’s a hectic strategy game that will keep you on your toes, unlike other strategy games that can drag on due to their pacing.

The game itself is easy to learn and play, but the game can be very challenging. LandGrabbers uses an easy tap and hold interface. Tap on the fortresses you control and then tap on the enemy fortresses to send your troops to attack. Tap and hold on your fortresses to upgrade them to carry more troops. That’s pretty much it for the controls. It keeps things very simple but keeps the action moving along.

In terms of gameplay, you take over fortresses by first taking a look at the little number underneath each one. This shows the amount of troops each fortress holds. You have to send enough of your own troops to equal more than the troops that are currently at the enemies fortresses. This is the only way to overpower them and gain control. While you’re out conquering the enemy, they too will be trying to conquer you by doing the same. Keep an eye on all your bases and the amount of troops at each. Also make sure to upgrade your bases to hold more troops otherwise they will get over run fairly quickly.

That’s basically the simple explanation of how you play LandGrabbers. There are of course more advanced gameplay elements involved like strategy, troop management, and also the use of power-ups to strengthen your army. Overall, LandGrabbers is a very neat game that should appeal to those who like strategy games. It’s a free download so it doesn’t hurt to at least try the game even if you aren’t a fan of strategy games.
