Fatty is a new game from Thumbstar and developed by Coatsink Software. It’s labeled as a platform-puzzler but it plays from like an endless runner. The game has you playing as Fatty, a bouncing hero who loves to eat. It is your job to feed him as much junk as possible in order to satisfy his hunger. Be careful though of enemies who will stand in your way to make Fatty skinny again as well as objects that will make him “healthy” and thin. If you become too thin, Fatty will starve and it will be game over for you.
Fatty is really a simple game and shares a few similarities to another really popular game, Tiny Wings. Instead of sliding and flying though, Fatty jumps and bounces across the level. Each bounce can send him higher and high as he collects food and coins but just be mindful of enemies and poison that can literally suck the life from him. Keep Fatty full and he’ll continue on and on, but starve him and he will turn to dust. Since this is an endless runner, it has also taken a few gameplay elements from other games such as the mini missions you can aim for and achievements to unlock.
While Fatty is a rather simple endless runner, it is quite fun. I like that it is not a complete rip off of similar games and does add its own unique flair to it. The controls are very easy to learn and as a casual game, this makes it much easier to get into and play when you’re just waiting around and need to waste time. Overall, Fatty makes for a fun casual game that anyone can pick up and enjoy.
