If there’s one thing you want in a children’s app, it is that the app is creative and allows them to explore the depths of their creativity. These types of apps usually let them create something from their imaginations while also allowing you to see what your child is capable of. One app that I happened upon recently that does this is Sago Mini Bug Builder by Sago Sago. It is a creation app that allows children to hatch and create their own unique bug using different shapes and colors. After which, dress up your bug with hats and interact with them doing various activities.
You start off with a tiny egg that you tap on. Tapping on the egg reveals 1 or 8 random shapes that you can use to create your bug. You can either use the shape given to you or use tap on the left or right side to change shapes. There are 6 colors presented at the bottom of the screen. Use these to paint your bug’s body anyway you want. When you’re done, tap the check mark on the upper right corner and your newly decorated shape will be in-cased in the egg again. Tap the egg a few times to crack it and hatch your new bug. It will come alive with sound and animations. From here, you can choose a hat it can wear, feed it food, and give it a bath. After which, you can take a photo of it which gets saved into the app’s gallery. If you view the gallery, you have the option of shaving them to your camera roll. After you take a photo, your bug flies off screen, but leaves a new egg for your to start the process all over again.
The app features very colorful graphics with bugs that end up looking very cute and friendly. Animations are very well done and are accompanied by fun sounds. This is truly an app that will appeal to young children’s senses.
Overall, Sago Mini Bug Builder is a fun little app for young children. It’s meant for children ages 2-4 and in my opinion, they will have a good time with it. It’s an app that is very easy for them to use and frustration free. I really like the fact that they can pretty much decorate each bug however they choose and they can be saved later so your child can see what they had created in the past. If you have young children, I suggest giving Sago Mini Bug Builder a try. It’s free so why not?
