Calendarium – Learn What Happened on this Day (iOS App Review)

calendarium_iconCalendarium is an app for those who want to know more about their day. It’s not your typical calendar app used for scheduling. Instead, Calendarium is an app used to learn about history, mainly events that occurred on the current day throughout the Earth’s history. Not only that, the app provides you with the times of sunrise/sunset, number of week, day, day length, moon phase and more.

iOS7 users will like the fact that Calendarium is optimized for iOS7 and is graphically enhanced with the same look and feel. That means the user interface is very clean and minimalistic looking. The top portion of the app gives you various information like the day, sunrise/sunset times, and how many days are left in the year. If you tap the info button, you’ll get information about the moon and other information. The bottom of the app features various snippets of historical information that happened on the same day in the past.

The historical information is quite extensive and you can scroll through it with a flick. It goes back pretty far and it’s almost certain that you’ll learn something new. You can even share this information with others.

Calendarium is a neat app, especially if you want to know more the day you’re on. The historical information is very cool as is the extra information about sunset/sunrise. moon phases, and day length. Overall, it’s very nicely done and a very interesting app to have handy.
