A few weeks ago, I took a look at the JisonCase Classic Smart Case for the iPad Mini. I found it to be a very good case that offered great protection and style. Of course there are other tablets out there and I happen to also have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 without a case. I decided to hit up JisonCase again and had them send over their Classic Smart Case for it, this time in Rose as the Galaxy Tab is mainly being used by my wife. This version of the Classic Smart Case for the Galaxy Tab is also made of premium leatherette and also has magnets embedded in it but not for what you’d think they’d be for.

Design

The JisonCase Classic Smart Case for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 basically has the same type of design that we saw with the iPad Mini version of it. The rear shell is a hard shell that snaps onto your Galaxy Tab. It clips at the top and bottom of your device and once in, it’s a very tight fit. The shell is wrapped in leatherette while the interior of the shell is the same, but in a tan color. The grain on the interior though is a bit different from the exterior. There is also a magnet embedded in the shell, but I’ll get to what it’s used for later. There are cutouts for the audio jack, speakers, USB charging/sync port, power button, and volume rocker. What is a little disappointing is that the case seems to block up the IR blaster on the right side which means that with the case on, you can’t use it.

The smart cover portion of the case is also wrapped in leatherette on both the interior and exterior and has almost the same type of folding design. What is different here is that there is an extra tab that with magnet on it that when the cover is closed, the tab wraps around edge of the shell portion to keep the cover closed. I does this because the Galaxy Tab itself doesn’t have magnets in it like the iPad Mini does. That also means that the cover does not activate any sleep/wake functions on the Galaxy Tab because it doesn’t have that feature. The cover itself also has a magnet built into it for use with that magnet I was talking about earlier on the hard shell portion. It is used to allow the cover to be folded up a certain way and used as a stand.

To finish off the look of the look of the case and the premium feel, the cover is emblazoned with the JisonCase logo at the bottom corner and the rear of the case also has a metal plate with the Jiconcase name on it.

Final Thoughts

Like with previous JisonCase cases, I am not disappointed with the quality of this case. It is a very well made case that will protect your Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 from bumps and scratches. Not only that, the Classic Smart Case also looks very stylish, especially with the assortment of colors offered for it. The only negative to the case is that it does cover up the IR Blaster on the Galaxy Tab which means you can’t use any of the remote control options when the case is on. This might not be a big deal for those who don’t use the IR Blaster, but for those who do, this might be a deal breaker.

Other than that, the JisonCase Classic Smart Case is a great looking, high quality case that will protect your Galaxy Tab for a very long time.
