I’m a fan of indie games, mainly because they come up with some really creative game ideas you don’t see from the big name dev houses mainly because they aren’t afraid to try something new. For instance, this new game by Spaddlewit is an interesting tracing game that tests how accurately and quickly you can trace the outline of objects. The name of the game is TraceRace and it’s not as simple as it sounds.

TraceRace has two modes of play. One mode is based on accuracy while the other mode is more about speed. Both modes have you tracing outlines of random objects seeing how accurately you can trace its path. It might seem really easy, but you’ll soon discover how difficult it is staying within the lines. It’s funny because as accurate as you might think you are with your fingers, you’re really not. Who would have thought tracing lines would be so challenging?

TraceRace is a fun, challenging little casual game that you can play at anytime. The concept is simple enough that anyone can pick up the game and play with three different levels of difficulty to suit any level of play. I will say though that playing it on the smaller iPhone screen is much more difficult than on a larger iPad. This is mainly because of how much screen space  your finger tip takes up and it’s jsut easier to see on a larger screen. Regardless though, TraceRace is a fun game to play if you just want to waste some time.
