Endless runners are by far, the most plentiful of games in the App Store. There are so many of them that it can be really tough to stand out in such a crowded genre. Sure, some of the most popular apps on the App Store are endless runners, but these are the ones that have really stood out, grabbed our attentions, and kept them. So what’s a developer to do then? Well, you could be like My Evil Twin Games and come up with something totally different and amazing like their latest game, Maze Crusade.
Maze Crusade definitely isn’t your average endless runner. The main point of the game is to control your knight through an endless maze filled dangerous enemies while also trying to avoid the deadly spikes that are creeping up behind you. To help along the way, collect and match items in order to gain bombs, spells, towers, and magical rewards. There’s actually a ton of other things you can collect like goats which you can use to buy items in the shop. Again, like most good endless runners, there’s tons to unlock as well as mini objectives you can complete to make the game more challenging.
Controlling the game is really simple. You mainly just swipe in the direction you want the knight to turn and tap on the items you want to use. Combat is automatic when you’re near an enemy. You just need to make sure that you scan the maze in advance while it’s moving along or else you may find yourself trapped with no where to go, which means doom for your knight.
Overall, great endless runner type game for maze fans. Maze Crusade has a lot of traditional endless runner features for those who love the genre as well as bringing something new to the table that I haven’t seen before. This is definitely a unique game for this genre and one I think many would enjoy. It’s free so why not give it a try?
