As much as I would love having more big budget games come to PS Vita, I’ve actually been quite happy and entertained by all the fun and unique indie games I’ve been able to play on it. In fact ever since I got the PS Vita, I’ve been able to really expand my library with a ton of indie games I would have never had the chance to play. I can admit that I love indie developers because they aren’t afraid to try new things.
MixedBag is a small indie developer from Italy working on two games right now for the PlayStation. I’ll cover Futuridium EP Deluxe first as this one is coming exclusively to PS Vita. Futuridium is a space shooter in which you will be tasked with destroying huge dreadnaught class star ships. As you can see by the trailer below, it features some rather interesting game mechanics and a rather unique art style.
Features:
- New gameplay modes
- New levels
- New game mechanics
- A graphical overhaul
- More music
- More speed
- More enemies
- Trophies!
- New ways to crash and explode in a trillion colorful cubes… did we mention the game is super difficult?
- Silky smooth 60 frames per second action
I’m not sure when it’ll be released, but it says sometime in 2014. Hopefully it’s sooner than later.
