As an Android user, there are many choices out there for radio. Some of them are free, some are subscription paid, but we can all agree that there certainly isn’t a shortage of choices. If you own a Samsung Galaxy device, you have more more option available to you called Milk Music, Samsung’s own radio app made exclusively for Galaxy devices. Milk Music is an ad-free, free radio service powered by Slacker Radio that features over 200+ radio stations.

The look of the app itself is very nice and has a very modern interface. The interface is very easy to get into and uses a dial motif to make choosing music a breeze. Basically you just drag your finger around the dial to select a music genre and station. If you don’t want to use the dial, you can also use the drop down menu to select a station. You can even create your own radio stations based on a favorite artist, similar to Pandora.

There are a bunch of settings you can mess with as well, such as choosing which genres appear on the dial, a history of songs you’ve listened too, the ability to list favorite songs, and being able to select the audio quality as either standard or high. I had it on standard and it still sounded really good.

If you already use another radio app regularly, you’re probably not interested in switching, although I do suggest trying Milk Music out. Overall, Milk Music is a solid internet radio app. I’m really surprised that this is free with zero ads, but Samsung has been offering quite a bit of apps and value to Galaxy devises lately. It is nice that music isn’t interrupted with ads like on other free radio apps. I used the app for a couple hours and for the most part, I liked the music selection it had. The only downside is that Milk Music only allows 6 skips. But other than that, this is a great alternative for Galaxy owners who just want to listen to ad-free music.
