Flappy Birds, for some unknown reason, became a hit when it was out despite the fact that it was the hardest, must frustrating game you could ever play. For some reason, the thought of playing a hyper difficult game kept people coming back for more as it was one of the top games in the App Store when it was out. Now, there are many games trying to emulate that formula. Some are straight clones while others are similar, but employ different gameplay mechanics and themes. For instance, Bog Racer by Open Name is a hyper difficult endless runner type game where you much steer your little race car over perilous bridges, while using super simple controls.

Bog Racer uses very simple controls to get you going. basically you just tap the screen to move your racer left and right, though it’ll never drive straight down the center. In order to keep your racer centered over bridges, you have to tap on the screen repeatedly to keep relatively centered without swerving too far off course. It’s very similar to Flappy Birds except that in this game, you want to count how many bridges you can cross without falling off into the water. The farther you get, the higher your score. It’s a lot more difficult than it sounds and it may have you pulling your hair out or doing bad things to your device.

Graphics are very retro here as is the audio, which is usually the theme with games like this. It’s not bad and has kind of a Frogger type feel to it, but with cars.

Overall, Bog Racer is not a bad game at all. If you were a fan of Flappy Birds, maybe you want to check this out. It’s actually a really hard game to master despite the simple controls. It’s a good addition to the Flappy Birds genre of games and another good alternative if your looking for games of this type to play.
