If you own a Nintendo Switch, one of the hassles when using it on the go is if you want to attach it to a larger television or monitor. This normally requires that you bring along your dock, but we all know how large and inconvenient that dock is. Another alternative is to bring a hub that is smaller but still requires an extra power supply plugged in. But what if you could combine the hub and the power supply? You’d get the Acefast PWRup, a 65W GaN multi-function hub charger that is not only tiny but does everything your regular Nintendo Switch dock would do.
How it works is you would plug the Acefast PWRup into a wall outlet, which gives it power. Then you would use the included USB-C to USB-C cable and plug one end into the Acefast PWRup and the other end into your Nintendo Switch. Lastly, you would plug in a HDMI cable to the Acefast PWRup and the other end to a display or television. There is an additional USB-A port that can be used for plugging in a controller.
That’s basically it. It works quite well and is a fraction of the size of your Nintendo Switch dock and power supply. What’s neat is that you’re actually not limited to a Nintendo Switch either. This works just as well with a laptop if your laptop supports USB-C video out. It’s not even limited to mirroring your device either as you’re able to extend displays on your laptop as well.
So with that said, the Acefast PWRup 65W GaN Multi-Function HUB Charger is an excellent buy. I love that this replaces what is otherwise a bulky dock and allows you to travel with something much smaller. Not only that, I appreciate the fact that it’s not limited to just Nintendo Switch use and can be on other devices as well.
