DROP + The Lord of the Rings Mordor Artisan Keycap Review

DROP + The Lord of the Rings Mordor Artisan Keycap

Back in April, we reviewed the DROP + The Lord of the Rings Black Speech Keyboard, which is an officially licensed pre-built mechanical keyboard, created for the most loyal fans out there. It features Mordor-inspired designs with custom artwork by OSHETART depicting the Eye of Sauron atop Barad-dûr. Fast forward to today and DROP has recently released three Mordor-inspired artisan keycaps, one of which is The Eye of Barad-dûr that we’ll be taking a look at.

The DROP + The Lord of the Rings Mordor Artisan Keycap: The Eye of Barad-dûr is a stunning artic rendition of The Eye of Barad-dûr, created by the Dwarf Factory. This is basically a miniature sculpture encased in resin, in the shape of a keycap. It’s beautifully designed and really shows off how menacing The Eye of Barad-dûr is when sculpted.

You have to option of using this on any keyboard that utilizes Cherry MX switches and clones, though these will look the best with the DROP + The Lord of the Rings Black Speech Keyboard, mainly due to their matching theme.

Aside from that, the DROP + The Lord of the Rings Mordor Artisan Keycap: The Eye of Barad-dûr is wonderfully crafted and an amazing art piece you can add to any keyboard for fans of The Lord of the Rings. The other two designs are equally as unique and menacing, though The Eye of Barad-dûr is my favorite.

You can grab all three on Drop for $65 each.
