Speck Presidio Perfect-Clear and Presidio2 Grip for the Galaxy S24 Ultra Review

Speck is a brand that I’ve used in the past on many of my phones and since they did announce cases for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, I had them send me a couple of them to test out on it. For this generation of the Galaxy S24, Speck only makes three styles for it, the Presidio Perfect-Clear, the Presidio Lux Glitter, and the Presidio2 Grip. For this review, I’ll be looking at the Presidio Perfect-Clear and the Presidio Grip.

Speck Presidio Perfect-Clear

Presidio Perfect-Clear Case for the Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Presidio Perfect-Clear case is Speck’s clearest case and perfect for those who want to show off their new Glaaxy S24 Ultra, especially if they got it in a fancy color. What I like about Speck’s take on the clear case is that these are dual-layer cases. The back is a hard plastic while the border feels a lot more flexible with extra impact absorption. The case is also fairly slim but still has raised bezels and edges for screen protection.

This case is made of 50% recycled plastics and features Microban® antimicrobial protection. Also, there is supposedly a clear coating on the case that prevents yellowing. Clear cases aren’t my favorite because I feel like I’m always cleaning particles of dust from the inside, and they seem to pick up a lot of smudges and fingerprints. Another thing I worry about is the possibility of scratches, as many of these clear plastic cases also seem to scratch easily. Only time will tell if either of these claims are true or not.

Speck Presidio2 Grip

Presidio Grip Case for the Galaxy S24 Ultra

The Presidio2 Grip case is one of my favorite case styles from Speck. This is a mostly hardshell case made from 50% recycled plastics. It features a soft-touch coating for comfort and converted grips. The inside of the case features Presidio2 Armor Cloud technology which are air capsules that on impact, compress and suspend your phone on a cushion of air, just like an airbag.

In terms of design, Speck somehow was able to make the case 20% slimmer, but still be able to withstand a 13ft drop. The case of course also has raised edges and bezels to help protect the screen from scratches and shattering. I am a big fan of the way the Pesidio2 Grip looks. I love the Inverted grips on the back and raised grips on the sides. The Coastal Blue color is also really nice looking with the contrasting grey accents.

FINAL THOUGHTS

I really like Speck cases, though their selection for the Galaxy S24 series is a bit light this year. I feel like in previous years, they had more style. It’s okay because two of their best cases are still available for the Galaxy S24 Ultra and that’s the Presidio Perfect-Clear and the Presidio2 Grip. The Presidio2 Grip is my favorite of the two and one of my top 5 cases for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. If you’re looking for a protective clear case, Speck has you covered with the Presidio Perfect-Clear, but if you want something more protective and grippy, then choose the Presidio2 Grip. You won’t be disappointed with either.
