Urban Armor Gear has been one of my go-to case brands for years now, going back to the iPhone 5. With the new Samsung Galaxy S24 series of phones, I find myself again drawn to their cases for their durability, versatility, and overall protection. These cases are for those who want something thin or fashionable and instead, are for those who want something that can withstand the elements and an active lifestyle.
UAG Monarch Case
The UAG Monarch series case is one of their most rugged and protective cases they make. This multi-layer case includes a shock-resistant core, a distinctive signature armor frame layered with premium material choices (top-grain leather or carbon fiber), a polycarbonate shear plate, and an impact-resistant rubber surround. This case is rated for 20ft drop protection.
I love the look of this case, especially in the color we picked up. The metallic red really stands out against the black and the leather inserts add a touch of luxuriousness. The case is a little bulky, but it feels great in your hands and you really get a sense that the case would protect your phone from any number of accidental drops.
While not cheap, you get what you pay for and UAG is one of the best in the business when it comes to protective rugged cases.
UAG Pathfinder Clear Case
The UAG Pathfinder Clear series case is based on the regular Pathfinder series but it’s clear. This is for those who want to show off the original color of their phones, but still want an ultra-protective case. The case features an ultra-lightweight armor shell, an impact-resistant frame, and a hex pattern core, providing enhanced drop and shock protection. The case also features raised borders for screen protection. The case is rated for 18ft drop protection.
What I love about these Pathfinder series cases is that they don’t cost quite as much as the Monarch ones, but still provide just as much protection with similar rugged looks. These are actually UAG’s original series of cases that have been around for so many years. I do like the clear series version because like I said above, it shows off the color of your phone so it kinda has a different look depending on what the color of your phone is.
UAG Monarch Pro Magnetic Kevlar Case
The UAG Monarch Pro Magnetic Kevlar series case is their ultimate in protection and also their most expensive phone case coming in at a whopping $99.95! This case is engineered with premium materials and features a multi-layer construction, including a shock-resistant core, a distinctive signature armor frame layered with DuPont Kevlar material, a polycarbonate shear plate, and an impact-resistant rubber surround. Not only that, this case also includes built-in magnets that are compatible with MagSafe accessories and wireless charging. This case is rated for up to a 25ft drop.
The look of this case is just absolutely stunning and I’ve had so many comments about it since I’ve been using it. I love the way that it looks, but the only negative is that it is a bit bulky and the edges are a bit too squared off. However, I’m rocking it still as my daily mainly because of the built-in MagSafe style magnet and I know 100% my phone will be protected from any normal drops.
UAG Glass Shield Plus
For 100% total protection, you also need to use a screen protector and UAG has you covered there as well. Their UAG Glass Shield Plus screen protector is made with double-strengthened tempered glass that delivers HD clarity. It is an anti-reflective coating and an oleophobic coating to repel oils. It even is antimicrobial-treated.
What I like about this is that it comes with a kit that makes installation a breeze. There’s pretty much no way you can mess this up and it goes installs with zero bubbles.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Urban Armor Gear has again produced some winners here with their line of cases for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series of devices. There’s a reason I’ve used their cases for all my phones and why I’ll continue using them daily. I’ve never had one fail on me and these new cases look like they should last the entire life of my phone. Note that many of these cases have the option to include the magnet or not include the magnet. The choice is yours.
