Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game – First 20 Minutes of Gameplay

Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is an offroad simulator by Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment. The main objective of this game is to conduct scientific research in the open wilds while utilizing your off-road vehicle to collect data.

In the first minutes of the game, you’ll get a very in-depth tutorial on how to drive the truck and how to tackle different types of terrain. In fact, this is probably one of the best tutorials I have seen in terms of getting player situated in a game. Not only that, the tutorial really showcases what Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game is capable of.

What I mean by that is that it showcases just how amazing the game looks. The terrain in the game looks so realistic and that also includes the water animations and real-time physics. When your vehicle drives over water, you see water splashing. When it drives over dirt, you see dirt being kicked up. Your vehicle even gets dirty from mud and debris. You can even affect the ground by leaving tire marks. The game just looks absolutely amazing.

They also did a fantastic job with the audio. All the ambient sounds are spot on. You can hear rustling leaves, flowing water, and the faintest sounds of animals in the distance. Your vehicle also sounds amazing with the roar of a huge engine, the moans and groans of your suspension and the creaking of the body. Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game does a fantastic job of really immersing you in the game.

Other aspects of the game include vehicle customization, which seems to be very deep, and exploration of the land. There are also missions you can accomplish to gain funds so you can spend them on more upgrades. My favorite part so far is jus the realism of the off-roading experience. I can’t wait to get more time with this game and see what else it offers.

Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game will be available on March 5, 2024, on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
