The PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller With Lumectra is another solid Nintendo Switch controller that can take your gaming to the next level. This is an enhanced controller, meaning that PowerA has added extra features to the controller, mainly programmable back buttons that can be mapped to any button or trigger on the controller. Also, PowerA has imbued the Lumectra Enhanced Wireless Controller with multi-zone RGB lighting for that extra bit of flashiness while gaming.
The PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller With Lumectra is very similar to their usual Enhanced Controller lineup. It includes advanced gaming buttons, which are the two mappable rear buttons that can be programmed on the fly without software. It also includes such conveniences as motion controls and textured analog sticks, though it does not have any rumble motors.
However, what it does have is the ability to be used wirelessly, thanks to a 20-hour battery. If your battery does run out, you can still keep playing with the included 10ft USB-C cable that allows you to play and charge at the same time. What makes the PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller With Lumectra truly special, though, is the included Lumectra multi-zone RGB lighting. You can customize your controller with 24 different colors spanning 4 individual zones and 3 lighting modes.
In terms of usage, the PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller With Lumectra is very comfortable to hold and feels really solid in your hands. The layout is pretty familiar, similar to that of the Xbox controller. If there’s one thing I don’t like about it, it’s the triggers, which are not analog triggers. While this works for most games, it’s terrible for driving games, but I think this is more of a problem with the Switch itself and not the controller.
With that said, the PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller With Lumectra is an excellent third-party controller for the Nintendo Switch. It’s cheaper than the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and has more features. This is a solid buy for anyone who is tired of using the tiny Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons and would rather use something that is more comfortable and familiar.
