Dell’s latest KM555 is a combo package that includes their new Dell Silent Keyboard and Mouse. Built for productivity and portability, the Silent Keyboard and Mouse provide a reliable experience without the need for fussy cables.
The Dell Silent Keyboard and Mouse KM555 is a complete package. Designed for workplaces that demand a distraction-free environment, both the keyboard and mouse provide silent operation. In addition to the quiet keys, Dell has also optimized the sizing of the keyboard to provide the convenience of a full-sized keyboard in a space-saving 75% body.
The reduced size also means weight savings due to the smaller size and the use of up to 64% post-consumer recycled plastic. This really is a lightweight package that is easy to carry and transport. The lightness, however, may put some off, especially those who prefer something with a bit more heft.
I mentioned that this is a productivity package, so the keyboard has a lot of productivity-focused shortcuts. The KM555 even has a dedicated Copilot key, providing faster access to your Windows Copilot AI companion.
Now, on to a few things I didn’t quite like about the keyboard. The build does seem a tad bit cheap due to the materials. This makes the keyboard exhibit a bit of flex. I also wish that the keys had backlighting on them for better visibility when used in dimly lit workspaces. Lastly, I wish the keyboard and mouse were rechargeable. Instead, they rely on batteries for power. On the plus side, they are designed to last about up to 3-years until they need a swap.
The mouse on the other hand I had less of an issue with. It’s a nice size for portability and has good palm support. The buttons are very quiet as is the scroll wheel.
The Dell Silent Keyboard and Mouse KM555 is a good buy for those looking for ultra quiet keyboard and mouse that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You’ll like the size, ridiculous battery life, and portability. Overall, a great buy for your workspace.
