We’ve reviewed a few GUNNAR glasses here in the past already and, for the most part, have been exceptionally pleased with them. GUNNAR glasses are known for their quality builds and materials used, which is why they’re also a bit more expensive than some other blue light-blocking glasses. This goes for their brand-new GUNNAR Tahoo series, which sits at the pinnacle of their engineering prowess.
The GUNNAR Tahoe is built from some of the best optical materials out there. The frame is made from high-quality Italian handmade acetate, and the temples are made of lightweight aluminum magnesium alloy. These feature spring hinges for added comfort and adjustable ear tips.
The lens is made of mineral glass, which is the same material used in high-end cameras and telescopes. This provides scratch and shatter-proof resistance in addition to superior optics. The version we got included GUNNAR-Focus lenses in 65 GBLF Amber protection.
All of this makes for a very comfortable pair of glasses that also fit really well. The frames feel very lightweight and don’t squeeze the sides of my head like other glasses do. The lenses are also very good, and I usually opt for the amber-colored ones for computer use. Since I work almost every day in front of a computer, I find that these help my eyes from feeling tired and decrease the harshness of staring at some screens that are pure white.
While the GUNNAR Tahoe isn’t cheap, it is one of the best glasses in GUNNAR’s lineup right now and worth the price of admission.
