Manta Sleep White Noise Machine Review

Manta Sleep White Noise Machine

When my kids were little, we had baby monitors set up in their rooms just in case anything happened in the middle of the night. For the few years we had those setups, my wife and I became accustomed to the white noise from the receiver. When my kids got older, we removed the monitors, and the white noise disappeared. While silence may sound wonderful, it wasn’t. Our room now felt too quiet, and it affected my sleep for years. So, when I was given the opportunity to test out the Manta Sleep White Noise Machine, I jumped at the chance to see if the return of white noise would improve my sleep again.

The Manta Sleep White Noise Machine is a tiny desktop speaker with an accompanying wireless remote control. The black in color with light blue and orange accents. It’s a fairly good-looking unit that will not look out of place on your nightstand. You can also place it on a window sill or anywhere you want to block out random noises.

Setup is a breeze. There’s a power cable you need to attach to it, which connects to an included USB-C power plug. It’s not rechargeable, so you’ll need to keep the unit plugged in at all times. The remote also requires a new battery if it ever dies.

Once set up, the Manta Sleep White Noise Machine is very easy to use. Simply use the remote and press the large button with the Manta Sleep logo on it. This will turn the speaker on and you’ll begin to hear white noise coming out from it. Use the volume buttons to adjust how loud it is. The right-side buttons are used to change the type of white noise sound coming from it and to set a sleep timer of when you want to have the speaker automatically turn off.

There are 15 different preset sounds to choose from that vary in pitch and tone. There are nature-type sounds and sounds that are just noise. My favorite is this one fan sound that makes it sound like I’m a passenger on a plane. I’m not sure why that’s soothing to me, but it just is. If you don’t want the speaker on all night, you can set a timer that will automatically turn it off. The timer can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours.

Does it work? If you’re in the market for a white noise machine that provides soothing tones while also helping you block out other sounds, the Manta Sleep White Noise Machine deserves a look. I like that it’s simple to use, and the included remote means you don’t have to have the main speaker unit right next to you. The speaker is loud and can fill a room at its loudest setting. After a few days of use, I can say that it does what it says it does, and for me, at least, it helps fill the silence that can sometimes keep me awake.
