Incase is known for their mobile and laptop accessories so when my work laptop got upgraded to a Macbook Pro, I knew who to turn to for protection. On my previous Macbook Air, I had used the Incase Dots Hardshell Case, which I was extremely happy with. It provided ample protection for a better part of 2-years and never cracked or chipped on me. For the Macbook Pro, they sent over both the Dots Hardshell Case and the Edge Hardshell Case. It’s the Edge Hardshell Case that we’ll be taking a look at first.
The Incase Edge Hardshell Case for the Macbook Pro will fit M1-M4 variants. You’ll, however, need to choose the size for the laptop size you have. This particular version is made for the 14-inch Macbook. It’s made of Makrolon polycarbonate for strength and clarity. One of the defining features of this case is the dual texture case. The edges have a matte finish and are slightly raised, while the center portion is completely clear. This is great if you maybe want to put some stickers or photos under the case to decorate your Macbook a bit.
On the bottom of the case, you get four rubber feet for grip, and the case features full cutouts for all the ports and airflow openings on the Macbook Pro.
In terms of bulk, the Macbook Pro already was kinda heavy so adding a case to it really doesn’t add that much more weight. In fact, I’ll take the tiny bit of added weight over accidentally dropping it, considering the aluminum the Macbook Pro is made of is so slippery.
The Incase Edge Hardshell Case comes in two colors – Clear or Black. I chose clear since I thought it would match the Space Grey Macbook Pro more. Regardless of the color you choose, the Edge Hardshell Case is amazing for protection and I highly suggest picking one up if you want to protect your Macbook Pro while still having it look minty and fresh.
