SteelSeries is no stranger to gaming accessories, especially with the amount of products that they have that constantly receive awards. That’s why it’s no surprise when they come out with new product because like any good brand, they never rest on their laurels. Even when it’s a product as simple as a gaming mousepad, they someone how finds ways of improving. Their latest product is the SteelSeries QcK Performance Series mousepads. What makes these so special are their performance-focused design tailored for either Speed, Balance, or Control. Each is tailored for different playstyles.

There are three different versions of the SteelSeries QcK Performance mousepad, the QcK Speed, QcK Balance, and QcK Control. Each is crafted with a different level of friction which we’ll explain below.

SteelSeries QcK Speed Mousepad – This mousepad is crafted for gamers who demand quick performance for their fast-paced action games. It offers a frictionless glide with an ultra-smooth surface. Based on feel, the surface of the QcK Speed is really smooth, and how dense the material is.

SteelSeries QcK Balance Mousepad – Next in the lineup is the QcK Balance. This is the mousepad that sits between speed and control. It has a little bit more friction in the material but still allows for speedy mouse movements. The material still feels smooth to the touch, but you can tell that it’s not quite as tightly woven as the QcK Speed. This one actually feels more like the traditional SteelSeries mousepads of the past and is ideal for those who want a balance between speed and control.

SteelSeries QcK Control Mousepad – Lastly, we have the the QcK Control. This mousepad is very different from the previous two. It feels very coarse and has a rougher texture to it. It features a micro-textured surface designed for precision.

So which one of these is my favorite? I prefer the QcK Control Mousepad, mainly because I prefer precision over speed. I also don’t use my computer purely for gaming as it also doubles as my work-from-home computer and graphic design workstation. That means precision suits my needs more. Regardless of which one you choose, the underside of each mousepad is super grippy, keeping it in place even during the most sweaty of game sessions.

While you might not think about mousepads when planning out your gaming setup, this is an essential part of a gamer’s arsenal. I love that you can choose between three different textures based on gaming preference and two different sizes. They’re also pretty affordable. SteelSeries makes some of the best mousepads out there, and the new QcK Performance Series is no different.
