Incase Crosstown Backpack with Woolenex Review

Crosstown Backpack with Woolenex 20L

The Incase Crosstown Backpack with Woolenex 20L is a medium-sized backpack for the urban traveler. It’s large enough to fit a lot of your essentials along with additional extras. This bag features one zippered main compartment, a zippered personal compartment, a zippered slip compartment, and two external water bottle pockets. It’s also made of 900D Woolenex, a unique material made of two tightly knit, varying-thickness polyester fibers that make it incredibly lightweight, durable, weather-repellent, and fade and tear-resistant.

The design of the Incase Crosstown Backpack is very modern. What I like about it is that it doesn’t look overly bulky and has a slim profile. I also picked this up in the black color, which isn’t really black. It’s more of a really dark grey, but I like the look of it. The combination of the fibers and color give it a more upscale look that I think black wouldn’t be able to convey.

Moving on to the main compartment, it has a very large zippered opening that goes halfway down the sides of the bag. Inside, you’ll find a large faux-fur-lined laptop sleeve for up to a 16″ laptop. Just outside of that sits another slip pocket that can be used for documents or accessories. Below that sits a mesh pocket for even more accessories. The main compartment is also large enough to hold a jacket, books, and more.

Next, the top-loading, zippered personal compartment is also lined in faux fur. There’s actually a lot of space in this one, enough for large phones, or larger personal items.

Lastly, the zippered slip pocket is very interesting. The zipper portion is covered by a magnetic flap that hides it. The flap doesn’t really seem to serve a purpose other than to make the bag look more aesthetically pleasing, which it does. In this compartment, you’ll find a ton of organization pockets for all types of things. It’s even split into two sections.

Moving back to the outside of the bag, the shoulder straps are padded and very comfortable. There’s also padding on the back of the backpack for even more comfort. As an added bonus, there is a secure travel pass-through so you can attach the Crosstown Backpack to your luggage.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This is my second Incase backpack, and I have to say that this Incase Crosstown is my favorite. The main reasons are that there is plenty of storage for all my stuff, and the added organization pockets are a plus. This one also has two bottle holders that retract, so they don’t stick out when not in use. Aside from the utility, Woolenex gives the bag a unique, upscale feel. Lastly, the bag just looks good. It sits just right, and even though it can hold a lot, it keeps a slim profile.
