If you’re thinking about getting a new smartwatch, the new Amazfit Balance 2 might be the one for you. I’ve spent some time with this device, and it’s clear Amazfit is pushing it as a serious contender for folks who are really into their fitness and overall well-being. It promises to be a go-to gadget for everything from your workouts to keeping an eye on your recovery and just handling daily life, all without nagging you for extra subscriptions. In this review, I’ll walk you through what I found regarding its design, the specs, what it’s actually like to use day-to-day, and finally, my honest thoughts on whether it’s worth your hard-earned cash.

DESIGN
The Amazfit Balance 2 immediately catches the eye with its beautiful, stylish, and modern-looking design. It exudes a premium feel, featuring a frame made of aluminum alloy and a fiber-reinforced polymer case, which contributes to its excellent build quality. It also feels very lightweight and comfortable when worn. The watch is equipped with a large 1.5-inch AMOLED display protected by scratch-resistant Sapphire glass, ensuring durability and excellent visibility even in bright conditions with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits. This vibrant display makes interacting with the watch a pleasure.
The push-button dial is a nice addition and works well for navigating the UI, as does the secondary button for going back a screen. You can also swipe across the screen for navigation as well.
However, the design isn’t without its minor drawbacks. While the watch itself is aesthetically pleasing, the included watch straps could look better. The watch includes two straps. There’s a sporty red strap and a more casual, everyday black strap. They’re both made of silicone rubber, but they feel a bit generic and don’t quite match the premium feel of the watch body. It would have been better if one of the bands were a more luxurious leather band.

EXPERIENCE
The user experience with the Amazfit Balance 2 is largely positive, primarily due to its comprehensive health and fitness tracking capabilities and its vibrant display. The large AMOLED display is a joy to use, providing clear and crisp visuals for all health metrics, notifications, and map data.
The watch provides lots of health tracking information, including accurate monitoring of heart rate, HRV, blood oxygen level, and sleep patterns, thanks to the BioTracker 6.0 PPG biosensor.

The integration with the Zepp App is seamless, providing a unified ecosystem for all data without the need for additional subscriptions, which is a major plus.
Unfortunately, at the time of review, the BioCharge feature was not available for the Balance 2, but will be available at a later time. When it does become available, it will continuously analyze energy levels to help users balance activity and recovery.

FINAL THOUGHTS
The Amazfit Balance 2 is a highly capable and visually appealing smartwatch that excels in health and fitness tracking. Its long battery life, extensive health monitoring capabilities, large AMOLED display, excellent build quality, and beautiful, stylish design make it a strong contender in the premium smartwatch market. It offers a comprehensive experience for athletes and individuals focused on their overall well-being.
Its price point, while on the higher side, is justified by the rich array of features and the high-quality build.
