DESIGN
The Thinkware ARC 700 shares a lot of its design language with other Thinkware dash cams. Its discreet, professional design is typical of high-end dash cams, built to remain unobtrusive on the windshield. It looks very similar to the Q1000 body style, with a compact, rectangular housing rendered in black, ensuring it blends seamlessly with the car’s interior.
It uses a separate adhesive mount so you can easily remove the dash cam if needed. The main unit houses a 4K front lens that swivels for angle adjustment. There is no display on this dash cam and it only features a small array of control buttons.
The rear cam doesn’t deviate too much from the design either and just looks like a miniature version of the front one. This one also only has up-and-down angle adjustment.
SPECS
The Thinkware ARC 700 may not be their top-end dash cam, but it has specs that are pretty close. The 4K UHD front cam is a must-have, and the rear being 2K resolution is more than enough for the rear. Since this is a 2-channel dash cam, it will record both front and rear at the same time.

EXPERIENCE
Installation is typical for a dash cam. Most should be able to install these on their own, though for a really clean setup, it will require more time and effort. Some may want to seek the help of someone more experienced with routing cables through their vehicle. Regardless, everything you need is included in the box.
Once this is all setup, just install the Thinkware Dashcam Link app and finish setting up your Thinkware ARC 700. From that point on, usage is pretty automatic and you won’t need to really touch your dash cam again until you need to pull a video from it.
In terms of video quality, it’s pretty much what I expected, as Thinkware video captures have always been pretty good, and this is no exception.
The only negatives for me are basically the same issue I have with everything Thinkware dash cam, and that’s the nonstandard power port and use of a micro-USB port for the 2nd video channel. A lot of other dash cam companies have since moved over to USB-C, which is a much more standard port, making it easier for some to upgrade from an older dash cam to a newer one.
