Super Stack Attack is a new casual game from developers Flaming Mitten Studio. The game is a stacking game where the object of the game is to see how high you can stack some blocks. Instead of stacking just some generic blocks however, each of these blocks has a name and their own look to them as the developer made each one into a character. Sprint, Dopey, Punch, Grim, Sally, Bumpz, Jafa, El Stacko and Arthur are their names and stacking is what they love doing. Aside from that, Super Stack Attack is just your everyday, addictive stacking game with colorful, fun characters.
To play Super Stack Attack, all you have to do is tap the screen. The simple controls mean that anyone of any age can play this game. A moving crane slides back and forth at the top with a block dangling below it. Just wait until it lines up with the blocks below and tap to release. It sounds really easy, but it’s not. With the crane moving back and forth, it can be challenging lining up the blocks and on some levels, the cart in which the blocks are stacked on also moves from left to right making it twice as hard. There are two modes of play in the game, Challenges and Endless Mode. Challenges provide goals you need to complete while Endless Mode is just that, endless.
Graphically, the game looks fantastic. Retina Display optimization makes all the graphical elements crisp and clear and I really enjoy the art style used here. It has a “South Park” kind of look to it and the background and user interface elements look like painted fabric or wood. It has a very nice look to it. Everything in Super Stack Attack is also bright and colorful.
Super Stack Attack is simple, yet challenging casual game that many should enjoy. There’s really not much you need to learn to play the game. Most people will be able to just pick it up and play with no problems. The game is very family friendly and players regardless of age can play this. The challenges aren’t too difficult but for most, you’ll want to play Endless Mode to see how many blocks you can stack with each play. If you have other stacking games, Super Stack Attack might not be enough to get you to buy another one, but if you’re still fairly new at stacking games, you should consider picking this title up.
Super Stack Attack is available now in the App Store for $0.99. It is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Requires iOS 3.0 or later.
