Ok, so I downloaded Carcassonne a few weeks ago when it was free on XBLA due to the whole 5ive years of XBL celebration. I figured, hey why not, its free. So after downloading it, I didn’t know what to expect as I’ve never really played too many of the XBLA games. I’ll have to say, it wa a pleasant surprise. It’s one of those relaxing type games that is part puzzle, part strategy. You can play the game on your own against cpu opponents or go on LIVE and play against real people or whoever is on your friends list.
The game plays out kind of like dominos. You place tiles on the game board, matching up the sides to form little towns and roads. There is a set number of tiles and when all used up, the game is over and the final score is tallied up. There’s not much more to say about it then that. I’ve played a few times with my friend on LIVE and its a pretty mellow experience. No trash talking unless you can find something to say about tile placement. The achievemnts in the game are pretty straight forward and not very hard to get. The graphics are simplistic, but still pretty nice and the music suits the game quite well.
I recommend the game to anyone who likes these sort of games. More information on the game can be found here.
