Zwink Now Available in the App Store

Here’s an interesting app that comes from Breadcrumbs Limited called Zwink. It’s hard to classify an app like this as it really is in a class of its own. I guess the best way to describe this app would be that it’s a smiley system for real life. That’s the best I can come up with.

You see, Breadcrumbs Limited markets this as an entertainment app that allows you to show expressions on your device when words just can’t seem to describe how you feel.

Realistically speaking though, I’m not sure how this app would actually work in real life. I mean I know for instance some people have a much harder time talking to people in real life than they do through internet conversations but could throwing up a smiley actually work as an ice breaker or a way to cut the awkward silence? hmm. Only way to find out is to try I guess.

Zwink is out now in the App Store for free.

Press Release

Zwink for iPhone and iPod touch Introduces the Perfect Wingman for Any Situation No need to remember lines like “You must be Jamaican because Jamaican me crazy”

Berlin, Germany–October 15th, 2010–Breadcrumbs Limited announced the release of Zwink for iPhone and iPod touch, an entertainment app that features 23 animated expressions designed for any situation in which words are simply not enough. A user can launch the app, show their device to anyone around, and use any of Zwink’s charming Zwinkers to communicate exactly how they are feeling. Zwink (German for “wink”) is the ideal mobile solution for communicating with others in close proximity without
the need for awkward ice-breakers or lame pick-up lines.

In addition to the familiar happy, sad, and angry emoticons, Zwink introduces a few lively and original expressions of their own: the combative boxer, the hopeless romantic, and the mischievous mooner who will not hesitate to playfully drop his pants when provoked. With a full lineup of joyful expressions, users can now share feelings without having to say a word!

“Zwink gives users brand new ways to communicate using their devices,” says Breadcrumbs Limited’s Founder Marcus Thielking. “Flirt, smile, love, laugh, all to your heart’s content. Communicating all of these emotions without words have all been made possible by Zwink, the first app to give users a second face.”

When talking aloud is not possible or permissible, these little Zwinkers come to the rescue to communicate the feelings and emotions that can not be spoken. Each Zwink does something different when poked or shaken, and adorable sound effects only enhance the Zwink experience. By blowing into a device’s microphone, for instance, these little characters can be inflated just like a balloon. Be sure not blow too hard, an overinflated Zwink can be explosive!

Zwink for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad is available for free (with in-app purchase) on the iTunes App Store at: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/zwink-your-second-face/id393909777?mt=8
