Today we had a chance to check out a puzzle based game called Santa’s Jigsaw Puzzles for the iPad.  Just in time for Christmas, Santa’s Jigsaw Puzzles is exactly what the title says, a puzzle game.  The game consists of 3 Christmas themed puzzle boards with 9 pieces each.

The game is definitely not for adults and was meant for the ages between, I would say 2-5 depending on the learning curve.  Each puzzle features the image that you are trying to complete in the background of the puzzle board, which makes it extremely easy for kids to figure out what piece goes where.  This might make it too easy for those children who have puzzle solving experience. What I would really like to see with this game is the ability to remove the background image from the puzzle board, additional puzzles and maybe the ability to make each puzzle consist of more than just the simple 9 pieces.

As is, the game is a bit light on content and may be way too easy for most children. If there had been more than only 3 puzzles and varying degrees of difficulty, we would recommend this app, but for $1.99, the app in its current state isn’t really worth the price.

Santa’s Jigsaw Puzzles is available now in the App Store for $1.99. It only works with the iPad.
