Santa in a Hurry is another holiday title battling for your attention in the App Store this year. I say battling because I’ve never seen so many Christmas related games at one time before in the App Store and it can definitely make an app go unnoticed. If you can look past the whole Christmas theme however, Santa in a Hurry is quite an enjoyable casual game that offers up a bit of holiday fun and challenge.

In the game, you play Santa on Christmas Eve and must deliver presents to all the children. Santa rides his sleigh and you must drop presents into the chimney of each home you pass. Along the way, you must dodge falling anvils, elves, and pigeons who try to sabotage your work.

Santa in a Hurry has very simplistic controls. You tilt your device back and forth to move Santa up and down and you tap the screen to drop your presents. It can be easily played with just one hand. That being said, the game itself is not that easy, meaning it’ll offer up quite a challenge to those playing it. It’s no easy feat dodging obstacles while still having to deliver presents. The game however is broken up into levels so it’s not one of those endless games…yet. Infinite mode is coming soon but for now, you just play each level in order to unlock subsequent levels. There are only 10 levels included in the game but once infinity mode is added, it should have more replay value.

Overall, Santa in a Hurry is a fun, challenging game that stays pretty true to the whole myth of Santa delivering presents on Christmas Eve. Sure there are some weird elements like anvils that drop from the sky but other than that, it doesn’t put Santa in a bad light or make him into something that he’s not. It’s a game the whole family can enjoy without destroying the whole spirit of Christmas thing.
