Daring Raccoon from developer Recosystems is a retro themed arcade style puzzle adventure. It’s and old school style multi-leveled platformer where you must collect all the fruit and treasure while simultaneously avoiding bugs and snakes. Each level is laid out like a maze that you must navigate in order to complete the level.

The first thing you’ll notice about Daring Raccoon is the retro feel of the whole game. The graphics are colorful and the 2D graphics are beautiful although they don’t seem to take advantage of the newer Retina Display. Daring Raccoon uses a standard control pad layout with a button for jumping. If you grew up playing retro platformers, this game should come as second nature to you and  controls are simple and responsive. If you want social aspects too, Daring Raccoon is OpenFeint connected so you can compare leaderboard results and achievements with others.

Daring Raccoon is a solid game and for the price, you get a lot of levels to play as well as the ability to create your own. Classic 2D gaming is what Daring Raccoon is about and if you’re a  fan of this genre, you’ll definitely like Daring Raccoon.
