DiscoTech is a labyrinth style game from developer D7 Studios. They added some flare to the traditional labyrinth game by jazzing it up with a disco theme that works surprisingly well. You control a disco ball as you traverse a disco themed maze.

The controls for DiscoTech are very easy to learn. It makes use of you devices tilt sensors. Holding it flat keeps the ball stead while tilting it in any of the other directions makes it move in that direction. It’s a very natural control scheme so anyone can really get the hang of it quickly. There are no buttons to push so you can really play this whole game one handed, but you’ll find that using 2 hands makes the ball a lot easier to control.

There is one slightly annoying element to the game and that has to do with the warp portals. They seem to be a bit sensitive. I find that when I enter a warp portal and end up on the other side, there isn’t enough time for me to get out of the portal before it warps me again back to the other side. I end up warping back and forth with no way of getting off of it. The devs need to allow more time before the warp activates so that players can get off of it. It’s a minor annoyance but one that can be really frustrating. Hopefully they can fix this in an update.

DiscoTech is rendered in 3D and optimized for Retina Display so the graphics look really crisp and clear. Everything is very colorful and the level designs are quite creative and very “disco” like. DiscoTech is a fun game and is a nice creative take on the labyrinth game. The gameplay is solid and the disco element adds character to the game. Discotech is fun for the whole family and can be played by anyone, regardless of age.
