Here’s a quick review of and indie game called Get to Tha Choppa!!1 by So So Dev Games. I just happened upon this game on day and somehow never got around to playing it until now. I had never heard of it nor did I know that it was previously an Xbox Live Indie game. There isn’t really much to the plot of the game except that your a dude who is running from a horde of zombies trying to get to “tha choppa” for safety. Get to Tha Choppa!!1 may put off a few people due to its unique art style, but you shouldn’t brush the game off because of that.

Graphically, Get to Tha Choppa!!1 looks like a 3rd grader drew it with a crayon. The rough style gives a real frantic feeling to the whole game which is what Get to Tha Choppa!!1 is all about. The zombies are literally only several feet away from you while you are running for your life while dodging missiles and mines. Speaking of frantic, the music in this game is beyond appropriate for this game. It really gives your a sense of urgency and gets your adrenaline pumping.

Gameplay wise, Get to Tha Choppa!!1 is simple to play and control. You just swipe up and down on the left to jump or slide crouch and you tap on the right side to shoot your gun at charging zombies. The simplistic controls allow you to concentrate on your main objective and survive. The game itself is an endless running game so you’re never really ever going to reach the chopper. It’s a tease.

In the end, I do recommend Get to Tha Choppa!!1. It’s a fun game and one that is easy to lose yourself in. The game is very easy to pick up and play and most people should be able to get going on their first run through. Obviously the theme of the game might not be suitable for children but because of its very unrealistic art style, they might not even notice what is really going on anyways. Get to Tha Choppa!!1 is very addicting and you’ll most likely find yourself stealing a few minutes here and there to play it.
